Irena Sendler: someone to remember

During World War II, Irena Sendler saved many Jewish children from the fate of the Nazi’s.  She died this year in Warsaw.  Snopes has a great  article at http://www.snopes.com/politics/war/sendler.asp.  It is sad that people like Irena are needed.  It is remarkable that people like Irena serve when needed.

Loren, great read on Irena’s life. It takes great courage to stand up for the marginalized like she did. Many of us may think we have it, but only when our life is put on the line will it be tested. Another person I admire because he risked his life to save Jews during the holocaust was Raoul Wallenberg.
